Mit Swayzak und The Nextmen zelebriert die Coke dj-culture
Jubiläumstour den Facettenreichtum aktueller Clubmusik.

Seit 1993 sind James Taylor und David Brown Swayzak. Das Duo gilt
als Meister aller Elektronik-Klassen: Tech House, „Free Spirit
Minimal“, Dark House, Dub Techno… Taylor und Brown, live
unterstuetzt von Vokalist Richard Davis und Drummer Francesco Brini,
haben alles ausgetestet und schaffen dabei mit allem, was sie
anfassen den speziellen, warmen Swayzak Sound. Ihr Techno pumpt
nicht die Dumpfbacken auf, sondern federt atmosphärisch ueber die Floors. Swayzak bewegen sich vornehmlich antizyklisch. Als sich
Tech House in England mehr und mehr zum Großraum Ausverkauf
entwickelt, wenden sie sich ihren Dub Experimenten zu, als Minimal
Dance-Mainstream wird, machen sie mit „Some Other Country“ ein –
zumindest für Techno Verhältnisse – hochemotionales Pop Album,
dem unter anderem Richard Davis und die Berliner Produzentin und
DJ Cassy ihre Stimmen leihen. Schon 2002 ziehen sie unter anderem
mit „I Dance Alone“ den Hut vor der heute wieder allseits zitierten
Disco-Ära. Auch als Remixer sind Swayzak in allen Abteilungen
gefragt. Auf ihrer Myspace Seite kategorisieren Taylor und Brown ihre
Musik als „Psychedelic/Dub/Surf“ und nennen Einflüsse von Lee
Perry bis Sonic Youth. Klarer Fall fuer Coke dj-culture…

As the vampire rises in the evening dusk, this 2 sided 10" record is a form of rebirth, a second chance or ghost of another time.

Originally released on the long unavailable vinyl only LP of 'Carthage Milk' by Swayzak's James Taylor. These 2 overlooked swingers are presented in full glorious undedited form. Remastered at dubplates and mastering (berlin) they are polyrythmic and ultradetailed yet you can sing along! Warm and organic, they blurp and blart a path from the ear to the hips.

'leave me alone' starts in dub house land, quickly taking off with some ever shifting grooves and an oh so blue synth line. Like a hundred tubes of smarties at once shaking and melting in your hot little hands as everything reduces to a super sweet over saturated solution of sound.

'recto / verso' is the upstart little brother both annoying and endearing. Its crooning cut up voices lead us to a superdiltued acid line that comes down via some nasal vowel sounds. A tribute to the lost art of the photocopier.
